In January, Habitat for Humanity, an organization that provides homes for families in need, opened a writing contest for students in Grades 4-6 across Canada. Every entry earned a $10 donation to a local Habitat for Humanity. The grade 5 teacher at Englehart Public School, Mrs. Archer, discussed this opportunity with her class and they were excited to enter. There were over 13, 000 entries from students nationwide and over $130,000 was raised.
We are thrilled to share that Gloria Burey has been named as a runner up in the contest and earned a $10,000 grant for the local Habitat for Humanity, an electronic tablet and a pizza party for her Grade 5 class!
