December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, where we observe the anniversary of the 1989 attack that took the lives of 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal.
This day recognizes the women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals throughout Canada who have experienced and continue to experience gender-based discrimination and violence, including human trafficking, in addition to honouring and remembering the lives that have been lost.
Together, we can work to take action to help prevent and address gender-based violence and discrimination by learning about, speaking up, and seeking help against harmful behaviours and situations.
