For 2023, the Elementary Summer Learning Program focused on literacy and numeracy and incorporated daily mental health and well-being programming.
The Secondary Summer Learning Program provided Grade 8 students entering Grade 9 in September the opportunity to participate in Reach-Ahead Credit Courses, and current Grade 9 to 12 Secondary Students the chance to complete Secondary Credit Courses for Grades 9 to 12.
Science Timmins supported the program by leading and completing engaging, hands-on activities with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) focus with students in both the French and English Elementary Summer Learning Program. Students learned about harnessing the power of wind by creating paper sailboats and further developed their planning, design, and problem-solving skills by constructing a marble run.
Thank you to all summer learning program administrators, educators, and staff for supporting students in their learning and to Science Timmins for a fulfilling day of activities for these students.
