Mental health and mental illness are often used interchangeably. However, as separate concepts, we acknowledge that we all have mental health. It is through nurturing good mental health that we can help prevent mental illness.
We recognize that an individual can have poor mental health without a mental illness, just as it’s possible to have good mental health with a diagnosis of a mental illness.
