The Kindness in Colour initiative invited students across DSB1 to submit original artwork representing kindness, inclusion, and belonging. The winning design was printed on pink shirts worn throughout the district.
“This project celebrated student voice in such a meaningful way,” said Lesleigh Dye, Director of Education. “It encouraged creativity, kindness, and community building in every school. We are thrilled that this initiative has been recognized at the national level.”
Organized in partnership between DSB1’s Mental Health Portfolio and Communications Department, the contest received 57 student submissions. Finalists were selected and staff across the board voted to choose the winner. The winning artwork was then printed and distributed across schools, creating a visible symbol of inclusion and belonging.
The Bravo Awards recognize excellence in education communications across Canada. The Coup de Coeur category honours projects that spark emotion and connection.
