April 2 is the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Acceptance Day (WAAD), which marks the beginning of World Autism Month, honoured by Autism Speaks.

It's International Children's Book Day (ICBD), recognized annually on April 2, which celebrates the power of books in shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning.

We are excited to launch the DSB1 Pride Month T-Shirt Contest, which invites all Grade 7-12 students across DSB1 to create an original work of art for our new Pride t-shirt that will be worn throughout June across DSB1!

It is Epilepsy Awareness Month, and on March 26, Purple Day is internationally recognized as a day to wear purple in a collective effort to increase awareness about epilepsy worldwide.

Each year February is acknowledged as Black History Month. DSB1 joins our community and nation in celebrating the impactful achievements and contributions of Black Canadians to the history and continued growth of our country.

At Roland Michener Secondary School (RMSS), four grade 9 students captured the opportunity in their shop class to manufacture a manifold for a new dust collection system for R. Ross Beattie woodshop.
